Addressing a lofty danger: Working safely on scaffolds

Last month a construction worker tragically plunged 304 feet into the turbulent waters of the Columbia River in Washington while working on the Lewis & Clark Bridge. While described as safety-conscious and experienced by co-workers, the man still fell and drowned. Apparently there was nothing at the investigation site that shed light on how or why the worker’s safety equipment did not prevent the fall, according to media reports.
