Oily Surface Labels

Labels That Adhere To Oily and Greasy Surfaces

When you have oily or greasy surfaces that need to be labeled, and can not be thoroughly cleaned, oily surface labels will get the job done.

This label stock has an adhesive that is formulated to aggressively adhere to surfaces contaminated with oil and light debris. For example, labels made using our oily surface tape have been tested on a plastic surface which was generously coated of both WD-40 and dirt.

The adhesive is a hybrid high tack adhesive that resists oil, gasoline, moisture, sulfuric acid, and salt spray.

Oily surface label stock is made with an exposed liner, making it easier to peel the label off the liner.

Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) Labels

ESD Labels Prevent Damage to Electronic Equipment, Components and in Clean Rooms

Static charges can be generated during label printing, removal of the liner, application of the label, handling of the label and removal of labels. This is know as triboelectric charging. Although the static charge may be such a low voltage that no spark is evident, it is still sufficient to damage electronics and sensitive components. For example, a very small static discharge can destroy the gate oxide layers of an IC chip.

Static electricity on labeling materials can also cause ink to bubble during label printing resulting in printing voids with the result being low quality printing. The amount of quality loss depends on environmental factors such as humidity.

Static electricy builds up on non-conductive surfaces and is discharged when two surfaces are in close proximity. This may be between the label material and the print head, or the label material and the material to which the labekl is being applied. Electrostatic Dissipative labels provide a conductive surface that dissapates the static charge before it builds up.

DuraLabel PRO supplies include Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) label stock. This is a 2.0-mil silver polyester tape with a smudge-resistant top coat that is impervious to abrasion and static-induced print head voids.

ESD stock has an outdoor lifespan of two years and a service temperature of -40 F to over 300 F.

Perfect for use in areas sensitive to electrostatic discharged, this supply is recognized under UL 969, Marking And Labeling Systems.
