DuraTag Provides Durable Valve Tag Labeling

Valve tagging is an important labeling practice in the industry. The information on valve tags provide information at the point of need, which saves on time and prevents confusion. By doing so, it creates a safer environment.

DuraLabel offers a unique valve labeling material: DuraTag. This supply is undeniably hardy, able to withstand abuse while maintaining a thin, flexible profile. DuraTag is also cost effective. The valve tags are often ordinary label material (such as vinyl or polyester) adhered to a plastic tag or encased in a plastic covering. DuraTag is strong enough to be applied without the additional material. Even a grommet isn't necessary. The clay coated DuraTag ensures text will remain legible even in extreme temperature or chemical environments.

DuraTag technical information:

  • Nominal Thickness: 7.5 mil

  • Service Temperature Range: -70 to + 200 degrees F

  • Tensile Strength At Break: 42 lbs/1" width MD/TD Avg.

  • Puncture-Propagation Tear Resistance: 6,700 grams

  • Yield: 243 lbs/MMSI

  • Surface Treatment: Clay Coating providing improved thermal transfer printing and increased tag opacity.

DuraTag, the Toughest DuraLabel Supply Around

We often describe DuraLabel supplies as being tough, resilient, and able to stand up to immense abuse. It's true of our vinyl. It's true of our ribbon. It's especially true of our DuraTag stock. This material is strong! DuraTags are incredibly durable and cost effective when compared to other types of valve tags.

It's pretty easy to simply say that DuraTag is strong. But here are some cold hard facts and specifications of the material:

  • Puncture-Propagation Tear Resistance: 6,700 grams

  • Service Temperature Range: -70 to 200 degrees F

  • Tensile Strength At Break: 42 lbs/1" width MD/TD Avg

  • Yield: 243 lbs/MMSI

  • These are pretty impressive numbers. The material also does what you would expect from any other DuraLabel supply: resists moisture, chemicals, and functions great in outdoor environments. In addition, DuraTag does not tear even when nicked.

    DuraLabel Valve Tags

The selection of DuraLabel valve tags has expanded and a DuraLabel Valve Tag Kit is now available.

DuraLabel supplies include valve tags and sign blanks. DuraLabel valve tags use a heavy-duty design the delivers industrial strength. They are available in seven colors. Using the DuraLabel 4TTP thermal transfer printer vinyl labels can be made for use with your valve tags. Use a contrasting color such as white vinyl, or use the same color vinyl as the valve tag to produce a color coded valve labeling system.

    DuraLabel Valve Tags

DuraLabel Valve Tags are now available.

Valve tags are typically plastic rectangles--although sometimes they are made from metal and may be circular or oval--to which labels are applied. The tag with the label is then attached to a valve. This is done because valves, having very irregular shapes, are difficult to label. A tag provides a flat surface for the application of the label, and then the tag can be wired or attached to the valve using an electrical tie.

The DuraLabel valve tags are thicker and stronger than most valve tags. They provide a stable and durable platform on which a label may be applied.

DuraLabel valve tags are available in seven colors: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, white and black. They are currently available in one size, 3.375 inches by 4.75 inches.

    DuraLabel Makes Valve Tags

Use your DuraLabel 4TTP to make valve tags. Proper labeling of valves eliminates confusion, reduces the potential for accidents, and reduces employee time spend locating the desired valve.

The DuraLabel valve tag kits provides a way to identify and categorize valves both by the text on the tag, as well as by color coding tags. Color coding makes quick identification of the purpose or type of valve quick and easy.

Making valve tags is simple. The DuraLabel valve tag kit includes a variety of tags. Select the right tag for the valve, based on the environment in which the valve is located; print the desired text and graphics using your DuraLabel 4TTP label printer; attach the adhesive-backed label to the valve tag; and it's ready to be attached to the valve using the included self-locking ties included in the valve tag kit.

Valve tags made with the DuraLabel 4TTP are a rugged and durable. You can even use chemical resistant labels and ribbons to make valve tags that are suitable for use in harsh environments.
