Two New Labeling Supplies!
Announcing two new label supplies available from Graphic Products: Embossable Poly Supply (Metallized) and Nylon Label Supply. Each of these supplies works excellently with four printers: DuraLabel PRO, DuraLabel PRO 300, DuraLabel 7000, and the DuraLabel 4TTP. Embossable Poly Supply (Metallized)Designed with a 6.0-mil silver metallized film coating, Embossable Poly Supply provides durable texture and professional appearance. With Embossable Label Supply, there are two options for including printed material on your labels. One, print the label's template using your DuraLabel printer. Then simply use a standard ballpoint pen and write personalized or updated information right onto the supply. Because of its unique engineering, information written onto the supply using a ballpoint pen creates and maintains an impression to prevent labels from being easily altered. Two, create completed labels entirely using your DuraLabel. Since Embossable Poly Supply is shipped blank in metallized silver, all of the label's information--the template and the personalized information like name and date--can easily be printed directly onto the supply. In other words, the example to the right shows the inspection label's template is both printed and handwritten. The name "FRED G." could have be printed straight from a DuraLabel. It's a matter of preference and depends on if you're ready to use the labels right away or not. Some good uses for Embossable Supply? Try using it to pen information on inspection labels or security labels. Within industries, Embossable Poly Label Supply is recognized as a popular form of inspection labels. So take advantage of it! TIP: If you use a ballpoint pen to include personal information on Embossable Label Supply, write it with the backing is still on the supply prior to applying the label. Using a pen, it is much easier to write on a hard, flat surface than it is an irregular surface!Nylon Label SupplyThis flexible supply takes on the bendy, wrinkly surfaces fantastically. Nylon labels are made to stay attached! Label information printed on Nylon Label Supply will not become so easily distorted, and its special characteristics helps protect the topcoat from cracking. Some good uses for Nylon Label Supply? Try using it for wiring projects in industrial settings. Wires can bend when subjected to rough handling, maintenance, or other natural or unnatural causes, and the flexibility of Nylon Label Supply adapts well to wire surfaces. Other uses include garment care and rubber moldings. Most uneven and difficult surfaces are no problem because Nylon Label Supply will conform to it. So what if surfaces don't hold their shape, because now there is a solution! Related posts: What's Your Specialty? Drum Labeling with the DuraLabel 7000
Certain instances in an industrial worker's career call for the labeling of industrial storage drums. Drums are used in many different environments and for many different reasons. They are commonly used to hold raw materials prior to use (solvents, dry goods, liquids, etc.). Drums may be made from steel, plastic, fiber, or something like unto those. They are found in warehouses, ships, manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, workshops and many other locations. Their standard size makes them perfect for industrial use, and no doubt pretty much anyone in an industrial-type career has seen some hanging around his or her work environment. So you've got this large, wonderful storage drum filled with something really great, but how are you going to remember what's inside of it? That's where the DuraLabel 7000 steps in. So that you don't have to remember the contents of your storage drum, you label it. Pretty logical. But will just any label do? Maybe. But possibly not. The type of material a drum is made from determines the type of label that can be applied to that drum. What label sticks best to it? What will withstand the rigid temperatures in which your drum is located? Do you use a large label, or can you get by with a small one? The environment in which a drum is located impacts the type of label material. For example, oily surface labels are excellent for surfaces contaminated with oil, grease, and light debris common to drum storage. Cold storage are perfect for applying labels at temperatures as low as -10° F, and they can withstand temperatures as low as -40° F Magnetic labels are a good option for temporary labeling. DuraLabel 7000 vinyl supplies can handle pretty much any type of drum application surface or environment and are available in four inch, six inch, and seven inch widths. Usually, the bigger the label the better! When you want your label and its message to be viewable and easily understood, go big. When the information is minimal and the label is intended more for brief identification rather than warning of hazards, a smaller label might suffice. Specialty Supplies for the DuraLabel 7000
Now that the new DuraLabel 7000 industrial label printer--an exciting printer that prints on supplies 4"-7" in width--has been introduced, it is time to introduce some "new" specialty supplies. Other DuraLabel printers like the DuraLabel 2000 and DuraLabel PRO printers are capable of printing on a wide variety of specialty supplies, so it only makes sense that the DuraLabel 7000 has the same capabilities. Graphic Products is always striving to be on the cutting edge when it comes to providing innovative, useful, and reliable labeling supplies. With that said, no one should be suprised that even more specialty supplies will become available in the future for use with the DL7000. But for now, here is what every DL7000 prints on (besides standard 3.0 mil supply, of course): 1. Reflective Supply: 4", 6", 7" widths; 70' per roll; white, yellow, red, green, orange, blue2. Justifying the Purchase of a New Label Printer
Problem: You are in need of a new label printer, but you are having a hard time justifying the decision to go ahead and purchase it. What do you do? Solution: Look at the numbers. Think beyond your current budget and consider the positive, short and long term consequences of purchasing that new DuraLabel printer. In an article published in the October 2008 issue of In-Plant Graphics, Sid Chadwick presents a number of issues for facility managers to consider when justifying new equipment. Here are a few that stood out to me: 1. Equipment Downtime. When a machine is not functioning reliably or frequently stops working, your organization's performance numbers, reputation, and morale declines. Revenue and productivity decreases. An unreliable label printer impacts many other departments! Get an accurate estimate on how that old, malfunctioning, or broken label printer is negatively affecting your organization. 2. Equipment Repairs and Maintenance. We all know repair and maintenance costs are expensive and how draining they are on your organization’s performance and performance expectations. The effect goes beyond the repair bill. A loss in wages that were unproductive (your employees are getting paid for jobs that remain stalled or undone) and unbilled revenues hurts, too. And once again, a broken printer sitting for days or weeks in a repair shop affects many other departments besides the department whose equipment requires repairs. 3. Equipment Productivity. Even though your current label printer may already be paid for, that is not how you should think (it might be to your advantage if your competitors are thinking that way, though!). You want to have the most productive system you can afford. If a new DuraLabel 7000, for example, can produce two or three times as much as what you have, then more work can be done. New projects can be undertaken. And if the new label printer is not only reliable but comes with lifetime customer support like all new DuraLabel printers do, then you can be as productive as you desire! 4. Improved Employee Morale and Reduced Employee Attrition. New technology tends to improve morale, as new skills are required to be learned and demonstrated. Although learning to use a DuraLabel printer is simple, what is exciting is learning about all the things DuraLabel printers can do. Because of the huge range of supplies available, a DuraLabel can handle a wider variety of labeling and sign making jobs than any other printer. Solving labeling and sign problems that previously were difficult to deal with is exciting and interesting. Your employees will have a much more positive experience, making them more likely to enjoy what they do and desire to remain with your organization. For each skilled employee not lost, your organization probably saves at least the yearly wages of that employee. After all, it costs to replace an experienced, valued employee. So keep them productive and happy! Considering issues such as these when justifying new equipment can result in positive consequences for your organization. Look at the numbers, and gain an approximate and representative picture of how your facility's performance can change for the better by investing in new equipment such as a DuraLabel printer. Top Five Reasons To Own A DuraLabel 7000
The DuraLabel 7000 is the new industrial sign printer that's turning the industry on its head. With it's common sense design and huge selection of supplies, the DuraLabel 7000 is the sign printer that can handle most facility sign making jobs. Here are the top five reasons to own a DuraLabel 7000 sign printer: 1. It Makes Large Visible SignsThe DuraLabel 7000 makes signs that can be seen from a distance. With its seven inch tape width it easily makes both standard and customized signs. 2. Ease Of UseEveryone claims their machine is easy to use, but the DuraLabel's common sense design delivers on this promise. But it takes more than a good machine. The software must also be easy to use. The DuraLabel 7000 shines in this area also. You can use software you are already familiar with such as Microsoft Word and almost totally eliminate the learning curve. Another option is to use the Industial Labeling Software (ILS) included with the DuraLabel 7000 printer. It features specialized modules for making RTK labels, arc flash signs and for making general purpose signs. 3. Heavy duty rugged design. It seems everything is made from plastic today. That may be fine for smaller machines, but as a printer gets larger you want the ruggedness and stability of metal. This ensures the printing stays in alignment, that vibration doesn't cause components to loosen, and that it will stand up in an industrial environment. The DuraLabel 7000 is a rugged, solid, metal machine that combines quality 203 dpi thermal transfer printing with high quality workmanship to deliver a hard working sign printer that gets the job done. 4. Saves You TimeWe are all having to do more with fewer people. The DuraLabel 7000 can help. It's ease-of-use means you can et set up and be printing signs quicker.
