Drum Labeling with the DuraLabel 7000
Drums are used in many different environments and for many different reasons. They are commonly used to hold raw materials prior to use (solvents, dry goods, liquids, etc.). Drums may be made from steel, plastic, fiber, or something like unto those. They are found in warehouses, ships, manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, workshops and many other locations. Their standard size makes them perfect for industrial use, and no doubt pretty much anyone in an industrial-type career has seen some hanging around his or her work environment.
So you've got this large, wonderful storage drum filled with something really great, but how are you going to remember what's inside of it? That's where the DuraLabel 7000 steps in. So that you don't have to remember the contents of your storage drum, you label it. Pretty logical. But will just any label do? Maybe. But possibly not.
The type of material a drum is made from determines the type of label that can be applied to that drum. What label sticks best to it? What will withstand the rigid temperatures in which your drum is located? Do you use a large label, or can you get by with a small one?
The environment in which a drum is located impacts the type of label material. For example, oily surface labels are excellent for surfaces contaminated with oil, grease, and light debris common to drum storage. Cold storage are perfect for applying labels at temperatures as low as -10° F, and they can withstand temperatures as low as -40° F Magnetic labels are a good option for temporary labeling.
DuraLabel 7000 vinyl supplies can handle pretty much any type of drum application surface or environment and are available in four inch, six inch, and seven inch widths. Usually, the bigger the label the better! When you want your label and its message to be viewable and easily understood, go big. When the information is minimal and the label is intended more for brief identification rather than warning of hazards, a smaller label might suffice.
