Updated RTK Software
The DuraLabel software for printing NFPA Diamond RTK labels has been updated to allow free form text to be printed on RTK labels instead of pictograms. This update applies to the 3x5 and 4x6 size labels only.
The software allows pictograms showing the recommended PPE (personal protective equipment) to be printed on RTK NFPA Diamond labels. With the updated software, the option of printing pictograms or text is available. The size of the text may be varied from 8 point up to 36 point on 4x6 labels (max. 30 point on 3x5 labels). This allows facilities to use text to describe the required PPE instead of pictograms.
DuraLabel 4TTP owners may download a software update free from: http://www.duralabels.com/help/software_updates.html
The DuraLabel RTK Software has always allowed the pictograms to be customized and additional pictograms added. The pictograns are located in a subfolder named "symbols\rtklabels\". If the DuraLabel software is installed in "C:\Program Files\DuraLabel 4TTP Software" then the pictograms are located in "C:\Program Files\DuraLabel 4TTP Software\symbols\rtklabels\".
Any graphics program such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro can be used to modify the existing pictograms.
To add a new pictogram just add the pictogram file to this folder. A pictogram file should be square (recommended 230 x 230) and saved as a .WMF file. The RTK software automatically scans this folder and lists any pictograms it finds, using the filename as the description.
If there is a pictogram that you'll never use, just delete the pictogram's .WMF file and it will no longer show up on the list displayed when editing or creating a new RTK label.
