FREE Pipe Marking Guide

The DuraLabel 4TTP label printer is an excellent machine for printing pipe markers. To help you know where to apply pipe markers, what colors to use, the recommended label size and text size, a one page pipe marking guide is available free.

The Pipe Marking Guide shows the standards used in most facilities. There are specialized pipe marking requirements for piping systems that may be particularly hazardous, such as ammonia piping or highly specialized, such as medical gases. However, for most facilities this standard pipe marking guide applies. It shows the requirements of the ASME and ANSI A13.1 code. Both of those codes have adopted the same requirements. Use the following link to get your free copy of this pipe marking guide:

The same web site also offers a free ammonia pipe marking guide. This specialized guide shows the labeling standards recommended by the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR).

Free Ammonia Pipe Marking Guide

The DuraLabel 4TTP, with its ability to print on label tapes that range from 1/2" to 4 inches in width, is an excellent choice for making pipe markers. It can print labels for both standard pipe marking and ammonia pipe marking, as well as specialized applications that include medical gas piping and even electrical conduit, cabling and wiring.

When something is free and is useful, go for it. These guides are useful and they are free. They are great for posting in the instrument shop and tool room as a quick reference for techs.
