Visual communication is often used around school facilities to communicate where to identify entrances and exits, the room number or class offered, which rooms are for personnel only, dangerous areas, and more. Providing signs and labels throughout the university will ensure that students and staff are all informed of how to get somewhere or of a potential danger. For instance, a safety sign would be placed on the outside of a door to a science lab to warn of potential hazards within the room.
